pop, fizz, clink!

It's almost 2016, can you believe it!? It's hard to figure out where the past year has gone... but, now that the holidays are almost over, it's time to welcome the new year with a bang. And what a better way than with a bomb.com NYE outfit!

New Year's Eve can be stressful because there are such high expectations: Am I going to the right party? Will all my friends be there (and more importantly, will they all have fun)? Will I get my New Year's kiss? (Editor's wise words of advice: Don't worry about the stressful things that can ruin your night. Laugh until your stomach hurts, dance like no one's watching, and clink your glass at midnight. The rest will fall into place.)

Now, sit back and let me check off one of the items on your to-do list: finding the perfect NYE dress. I've chosen three trends that will help you stand out and show off your best you.

peek-a-boo | bright colors | sequins

PEEK-A-BOO | Let's be real for a moment. NYE is a sexy night. If there was ever an excuse to put on your slinkiest dress and highest platform stilettos, this is the night. I love the Three Floor above because it's revealing without showing too much (which can sometimes be a hard thing to find). You don't want to look like you're trying too hard but a little peek-a-boo never hurt anyone, right? I also love this For Love & Lemons dress (they really can do no wrong) and this Nightcap x Carisa Rene dress that has lace in all the right places. My suggestion is to try on a bunch of dresses with different cutouts to figure out what compliments you best. I own a gorgeous floor-length BCBG dress with a triangular cut-out on the torso that looked beyond weird on the rack but looks incredible on me. Until you try it on, you'll never know!

BRIGHT COLORS | NYE is indeed the night to leave your little black dress in your closet and take out your flashiest and brightest dress. This is the night to stand out and the easiest way to do that is in a dramatic color that compliments your skin tone and hair color. Make sure you tone down your accessories, like the styling done on the above KAUFMANFRANCO dress, and let your dress do all the talking. I also love this classic Diane von Furstenberg dress in a punchy green and KAUFMANFRANCO dress in a bold canary yellow. Keep your shoes and purse neutral and simple and choose a pair of statement earrings or a bold cuff to soften or add edge to your look.

SEQUINS | I have a love/hate relationship with sequins most of the time but I only feel the love for them around the holiday season. Glitter, sparkles, sequins... I adore them all. And NYE is the perfect night to look like a complete disco ball... seriously. Whether it's strapless, a halter, or long-sleeved, it's easy to find something shimmery that'll suit your figure. I love the simplicity of the BB Dakota dress above that can be complemented by a statement shoe or clutch, but I also love the deep pattern of this The Jetset Diaries dress and the wrap fit of this Maison Scotch dress. Whether it's a solid shade, multicolored, or has patterns or designs, you'll be sure to stand out on the dancefloor.

Cheers to 2016!
